Te-Hsin Hall (60 minutes)With a history of over a century, the Chen Family's Dexintang was established during the Qing Dynasty. It is one of the few well-preserved Minnan-style traditional residences in Luzhu District. It features a swallowtail-shaped roof ridge, an architectural design that is rare in northern Taiwan and could only be constructed by scholars of the time. The craftsmanship is exquisite and detailed. In addition to serving as a memorial center for the Chen family, dedicated to ancestors who settled in Taiwan, it has also been designated as a third-level historical monument by Taoyuan City. -

Mingzhi Academy (60 minutes)The Mingzhi Academy was the first official as well as private academy in Northern Taiwan. It was founded in 1763 by Chuo-Yo Hu, a member of the nation’s most elite academy. He donated premises and raised funds for the free school, which eventually evolved into a formal educational establishment. The academy was then relocated to Hsinchu and began to decline after compulsory education was put into force. The Mingzhi Academy collapsed in 2003 due to lack of care. However, thanks to a donation from business mogul Wang Yung-Ching, the academy was refurbished and restored to its former glory. -
