09:00-10:00Sanxia Zushi Temple & Sanxia Old StreetSanxia, about 22 km southwest of Taipei, is a bustling town with narrow, winding streets and brick buildings that are often over 100 years old. The main attraction is the Zushi Temple, built in honor of Sung Dynasty loyalist Cheng Chao-ying. This temple was in ruins at the end of World War II, and a meticulous restoration project has been underway for some forty years. The temple is known for its intricately carved stone and bronze columns and statues, carved stone lions, camphor wood carvings, and exquisite bronze bas-reliefs.

10:20-11:40Yingge Pottery StreetYingge is a pottery town with several hundred pottery plants and an equal number of pottery shops that sell their products. Jianshanpu Road is where the local ceramics industry began, and even today it has an old square coal-fired kiln chimney that serves as its landmark.
